For example, on one case a gentleman came in to see us about a workers’ compensation case. Because he was not working he had problems with the Friend of the Court paying child support and so we were able to represent him on the child support matter and hold his support payments in abeyance.
We also investigated the claim and sued the land owner and the construction company and were successful in negotiating a settlement on our client’s behalf.
We were also able to negotiate his workers’ compensation claim and the lien issues on the third party construction case.
We also represented him and were successful in securing social security disability benefits for him and ultimately were able to negotiate the Friend of the Court lien away because of social security benefits paid to the minor child and we got him full credit for all those payments so in effect we terminated all of his child support obligations from about the time he came to see until the child turned 18.
In addition we handled a couple of traffic tickets for him and his family as well as preparing a will for him and his wife.
